Abyan, NewsYemen:

The Southern Transitional Council condemned in the strongest terms of condemnation and denunciation the treacherous terrorist abduction and kidnapping of a number of United Nations employees in Abyan governorate.

The council noted, through the official spokesman, Ali Al-Kathiri, to his previous assertions that the forces operating under the umbrella of legitimacy in Abyan governorate were infiltrated by terrorist organizations.

He stressed that its survival represents a dangerous security gap that threatens the security and stability of Abyan and the region and provides a fertile environment for the spread of terrorist elements, increasing their activity and carrying out new terrorist operations.

He pointed out that the Security Belt Forces were and still represent an essential pillar for establishing security, stability and combating terrorism in Abyan Governorate, accusing the other party in the Riyadh Agreement of obstructing its return to its previous positions and tasks, as stipulated in the agreement.

On Friday, an armed group kidnapped six workers of a United Nations organization, in an area near the district of Mudiyah in Abyan governorate, including a foreigner, after they stopped a convoy of three vehicles and a United Nations crew, to be stopped at a point that cuts between the city of Khedira and Mudiyah in  The central region of Abyan.
