Aden, NewsYemen:

Two well-informed sources told the American "Axios" website, that the White House held a joint meeting between US government agencies last Friday to discuss the possibility of reclassifying the Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization.

According to the sources, the White House National Security Council is more open to reclassifying the Houthis, while the State Department supports the targeting of specific Houthi leaders with sanctions, rather than listing the group itself as a terrorist organization.

Last Thursday, US State Department spokesman Ned Price said that the Biden administration will not hesitate to use sanctions against Houthi leaders or entities involved in military attacks against civilians or committing human rights violations.
