A tribal leader from Saada Governorate (Northern Yemen) died under torture in a prison by the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, in Sana'a.

Human rights sources said that Sheikh Abd Rabbo Daji, one of the Sheikhs of Al Salem in Kitaf District - Saada Governorate, died after being brutally tortured by the Houthi militia, in a secret prison in Sana'a.

The sources added that the militia informed Daji's family, through intermediaries, to attend to receive his body, on the condition that the circumstances of his death should not be investigated.

The Houthi militia had kidnapped Sheikh Daji from a Sanaa market four months ago, and refused to disclose to his family the location of his detention during that period.
