Government forces have taken control of the Midi junction, in the Haradh district of Hajjah Governorate, northwest of Yemen, amid ongoing battles with the Houthi militia.
A military source told NewsYemen that units from the Fifth Military District, with air support from Arab coalition fighters, advanced from two axes, towards the city of Haradh, and cut off a major Houthi supply line to the city.
He stressed that the army forces imposed a partial siege on the Houthi militia inside the city of Haradh, after it succeeded in cutting their supply line from the direction of the town of "Ahem".
According to the source, the confrontations are taking place on the southern outskirts of the city of Haradh, and resulted in the killing and wounding of dozens of Houthi militia members.
In the context, the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia said that it supports the progress of the brigades in all axes, and that the operations achieve their interim goals.
The coalition spokesman, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, said, "The Joint Forces Command of the coalition requests the Yemeni citizens and the general population not to use the roads leading to the city of Haradh, starting from three o'clock in the morning on Saturday, February 5, 2022 until further notice ... as it is within the area of operations."
Al-Maliki added that "they are monitored around the clock, and any movement on these roads will be targeted."
