A human rights report records 1,134 murders, kidnappings and torture committed by the Houthis during the year

 A human rights report revealed that the terrorist Houthi militia committed 1,134 cases of kidnapping, enforced disappearance and torture of detainees in Yemen, including women and children, and making them human shields during the period from January 1 to December 31, 2021.

The report of the Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms recorded 976 cases of disappearance and arbitrary arrest of civilians, including 35 children and 38 women, 92 cases of enforced disappearance, including women and children, and 42 cases of torture and ill-treatment in the governorates of Sana’a, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Al Hudaydah, Al Mahwit, Raymah and Al Jawf  Al Bayda, Al Dhale’, Amanat Al Asimah, Saada, Hajjah and Amran.

The report indicated that 11 cases of torture, 18 cases of using human shields, 4 cases of liquidation inside prisons, 6 cases of death due to negligence in prisons, and 3 deaths of detainees from heart attacks were documented.
