The deputy head of the media department of the Southern Transitional Council, Mansour Saleh, described the controversy surrounding the end of military operations in Shabwa Governorate (southern Yemen) as unjustified and aimed at diminishing the victory achieved by the southern "giants" forces, and affecting the morale of the fighters who achieved a great victory that represented The liberation of three southern and fourth northern districts in less than a month.
And he explained, in a connection with “Sputnik”, on Monday, that the military operations did not stop, but the mission of the southern giants forces in the “Hurricane of the South” operation, which was launched on the first of this January, was over, and the task of the giants brigades was specific before its launch, with the liberation of the districts of Baihan and Usaylan. He was appointed to the Shabwa governorate, and to secure the vital area of the governorate by penetrating the Harib district in the Yemeni governorate of Ma'rib, and this was fully accomplished.
On the future of Shabwa governorate and the repositioning of the southern giants, Saleh explained that the southern giants, after their success in liberating the three districts from Shabwa, will secure them from any possible external invasion from any source, as the Giants’ brigades will link up on the governorate’s borders with the Yemeni governorates of Ma’rib and al-Bayda as a border guard force. The Shabwa Defense Forces will take over the task of protecting the local security of the seventeen districts of the governorate.
The deputy head of the media department said that the Shabwa Defense Force, whose nucleus was formed by the Shabwa Elite Forces, is a trained and ready force in terms of number and equipment, and it has begun its deployment in securing the liberated districts and other directorates, and a recruitment process will take place from the people of the governorate to cover any shortage.
Saleh noted that there are great tasks in front of the Shabwani Elite Forces, alongside the forces of the southern giants, in light of the heavy legacy of the Islah authority that ran the governorate, and which enabled its militias, as well as extremist elements to move and rearrange their ranks, which constitutes a real threat to the security of the governorate and the south in general.
Saleh revealed the latest developments in the Hadhramaut governorate, "that the governorate is preparing for a new phase to enable the people of Hadhramaut to manage their affairs and benefit from the wealth of their governorate, in addition to liberating Wadi Hadramawt, which is being tampered with by the reform forces." According to the Riyadh agreement, the forces of the first military region must leave Wadi Hadramawt and head To the fighting fronts in Yemen to confront the Houthi militia "Ansar Allah", and it must implement and hand over its positions to the Hadrami Elite Forces and the Hadhramaut Defense Forces, to take over the task of securing their governorate.
He pointed out that the second Hadrami donation, in the context of the empowerment process, inaugurated last Saturday training camps for the Hadramawt Defense Forces, which will recruit 25,000 fighters.
Saleh warned that the forces of the First Military District would refrain from standing up to the demands of the people of Hadhramaut so as not to push matters towards an escalation and work to force them out.
And he continued: "What happened in Shabwa and is currently happening in Hadhramaut will also take place in Al-Mahra Governorate, and in this direction comes the return of the Sultan of Al-Mahra, Abdullah bin Afrar to lead the Mahri movement, which is demanding to enable the people of the governorate to manage their affairs and end the state of security tampering practiced by armed militias coming from outside." southern borders.
