Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

Sources close to the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, revealed to NewsYemen that disagreements erupted between the militia leaders over the continued implementation of the policy of confiscating the homes and property of citizens, led by the militia’s opponents, especially the displaced people outside the militia’s areas of control or outside Yemen.

The sources said: A meeting held for the political office of the militias last week, in which executive leaders (ministers, governors, militia supervisors in the governorates and security leaders) participated, witnessed a sharp dispute after some of those present at the meeting expressed their discontent with the continuation of the policy of confiscating property and homes of citizens, including opponents of militias.

According to the sources, some of the leaders present at the meeting from outside the membership of the Political Bureau considered that the continuation of this policy has become an indication to the rest of the citizens in the militia-controlled areas that the Houthis have no goal but to practice corruption and steal the money of others with flimsy justifications, including treason and employment for the coalition, and sometimes with justifications, excuses and allegations that there are no  It has, especially since the confiscation process takes place without any criteria and without any direction other than finding a justification for some people to control these homes and turn them into homes for themselves, their relatives, or people affiliated with them, not to mention the confiscation of commercial and investment properties and their transformation into trade for the benefit of certain leaders.

The sources say: The critics, some of whom are conservatives and supervisors in the governorates, indicated that the policy of confiscating homes and property belonging to the people has become an obstacle to their ability to continue the policy of mobilizing fighters in the governorates, as sheikhs, social figures, and even businessmen and traders complain that their fate may be similar to the fate of those who were killed.  The confiscation of their homes and properties, some of whom had cooperated with the militias to a large extent, not to mention the people’s view that homes and commercial investments are property belonging to children, families, families and relatives of people from the opponents of the militias.  Politics will be dire in the future even if the war stops, as it will not be possible for these people to remain silent to the militias about confiscating their property and they will find it justifications for a revolution against the militias, even if they participate in power with others.

According to the sources, some members of the political bureau of the militias rejected these criticisms and tried to justify the policy of confiscating homes and property with fanatical and jurisprudential justifications, considering them as spoils of war and that they may be confiscated in their favor, which is not accepted by those who criticized that policy and considered it stubbornness.

Since its takeover of Sanaa and its coup against power on September 21, 2014, the Houthi militia has implemented a policy of bombing and confiscating the homes and property of its opponents.  Allegedly of their cooperation with the Arab coalition.

The Houthi militia deliberately settles large numbers of its supporters and leaders, especially from the people of Saada Governorate, in the homes of opponents whose homes are confiscated, while turning companies and investment and commercial projects into a private sector affiliated with it, which it manages for its benefit and for the benefit of its leaders.
