Aden, NewsYemen, Muhammad Yahya:

Iran poses a threat to international navigation in the Bab al-Mandab strait at the entrance to the Red Sea, especially since approximately 25,000 ships carrying various types of goods pass through the strait annually, representing about 12 percent of global trade and nearly four million barrels of oil passing through it daily.

Since 2014, Tahran has accelerated, through its Houthi tools, to control the strategic ports in the Red Sea and coastal areas, the most important of which is the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and navigation has been threatened by targeting oil tankers in the Red Sea.

The importance of the Bab al-Mandab strait made this waterway the subject of complex competition and conflicts between the various forces of colonialism and international or regional influence and domination.  This is what made the Iranian ambitions rush to this region, after its ambitions crossed the gate of the Strait of Hormuz and the Arabian Sea.

Iran is seeking to extend its control over the Straits of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab, either directly or through armed groups that finance it.  After tightening its control over the Strait of Hormuz through methods of terrorism and threats to navigation in the Persian Gulf, with American complicity and often overlooking, Tehran worked to support the Houthi militia to find a foothold at the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and to consolidate its control over the second waterway that passes through it Oil after the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has intensified its intelligence, political and military presence in Yemen, which represents the southern gateway to the Arab world in general and the Arabian Peninsula and the Gulf in particular, as it is one of the most important focal points in the Iranian strategy to tighten control over the straits, which Tehran considers the most important areas of its influence in the Arab region, as its presence in this  The strategic location enhances its regional presence and helps it control the main entrances and exits to the international oil trade, in light of Iran's realization of the importance of modernizing its naval and strategic forces.

Observers say that there are serious indications of a threat to the international community if Iran tightens its control over Bab al-Mandeb and the sea lanes on the Red Sea, threatening the stability of the rest of the world, not just the Gulf states and the Middle East.

According to observers, there is a real presence of Iran in Yemen, and that this situation is dangerous and will generate real disasters at all levels, and the international community should be aware of the dangers of the Iranian presence in the Red Sea due to the conflict over the waterways.

Tehran has sought to control the international shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea in a way that increases its negotiating position over its nuclear program, thus making Iranian influence besieged the region in general, which means that the Iranian project acquires new territory, which may redraw the map of regional balances in the region.
