Popular demands for the dismissal of the governor of the central bank of Aden and his administration, and refer them to investigation
English - Sunday 05 December 2021 الساعة 07:31 amYemenis demanded a change in the management of the Central Bank in the capital, Aden, which they said bears the consequences of the collapse of monetary policy due to mismanagement, and this was proven by recent auctions of foreign currency by the bank, which was reflected in the massive rise of foreign currencies against the Yemeni riyal.
During a hashtag titled (#Central_Bank_Yemen_Head_of_Corruption), launched by the southerners, politician Fahd Al-Khulaifi accused Shakib Hubeishi, who has long been in charge of the duties of the governor of the Central Bank of Yemen and his management staff, of striking the currency in the liberated areas, specifically in the southern governorates, in order to serve a suspicious agenda, which he said seemed to have achieved its goals, demanding Prosecuting them, not just firing them.
Politician Abdel Qader Abu Al-Laim said that Al-Hubaishi’s departure from the capital, Aden, at this difficult time, with the central bank’s inability to curb the madness of exchange rates, is tantamount to jumping from the cabin of a train that caught fire and walking at a tremendous speed and the leader lost control, so he had no choice but to survive himself.
For her part, the media, Hanan Fadl, said that Al-Hubaishi left Aden after his involvement in financial and administrative corruption in the Central Bank of Yemen to serve a suspicious agenda, adding that our main demand is to change the management of the Central Bank, which bears the consequences of the collapse of monetary policy due to mismanagement.
The activist, Safa Hadi, criticized the dire situation in the liberated areas, especially the capital, Aden, and said:
“Since when we were paying apartment rents with Saudi riyals in aden?
Since when did we buy our groceries with Saudi riyals?
Journalist Saleh Al-Obaidi, wrote in a tweet, "It is a shame that we are starving, and our country is rich and has enough good for the countries of the world. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best agent."
Activist Hussein Abdul Qawi asked, what is the benefit of having a central bank, which is the reason for the deterioration of the economic situation? The problem is not with people. The problem with the central bank system as a whole.
