Military commander in Socotra: The security situation has stabilized after the expulsion of the Brotherhood militia

Brigadier General Mohsen al-Hajj, Staff of the 1st Marine Brigade, Marine Corps, in Socotra, said that this brigade is the only one present on the island, and its forces are deployed in all areas of the archipelago, even the islands of Abd al-Kuri and Samha.
Brigadier General Al-Hajj added, in a statement carried by Sputnik agency, that the 1st Brigade, artillery, tanks, air defense, border guards, naval points, performance battalion, and the Air Force are protecting the territorial waters of the island's coasts from all piracy and outgoing hostilities, and protecting the island's territorial waters from all directions.
He stressed that they have in the First Marine Brigade, advanced naval equipment, with the support of the brothers in the United Arab Emirates, to monitor any dangers and protect the island.
He denied the existence of illegal immigration, explaining that immigrants pass from Somalia and Ethiopia directly to Aden, and if the immigrant comes to the island, he cannot leave it, especially after our complete control of the island.
Regarding the security situation, Al-Hajj said that the First Brigade, in cooperation with the security apparatus, performs the task of internal security, and in full coordination with the security services, and there are police stations and security points affiliated with the governorate in all places.
Brigadier General Al-Hajj explained that since the Transitional Council took control of the situation in the Socotra archipelago governorate, there are no longer security problems, as the previous situation was unstable because the Islah affiliates were raising a lot of problems before they were expelled from Socotra.
Regarding the Saudi presence on the island, Al-Hajj said that there are symbolic Saudi forces at the airport and port, unlike what was in the past when the Islah party was in control of the island.
He stressed that there is a protection company from the 1st Brigade, Marine Corps, that guards the airport and is deployed around the airport, and the Saudi participation is now limited, and it is a number of individuals, stressing that all procedures are carried out through us, whether in the ports or the airport.
