Aden, NewsYemen:

A leader in the Southern Transitional Council, in Abyan Governorate (south), was injured during his participation in the battles to defend the city of Marib, eastern Yemen.

Field sources in Marib said that the head of the local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in the district of Mudiyah, Sheikh Ali al-Salihi, was wounded with his brother during the battles against the Houthi militia south of Marib governorate.

It explained that Sheikh Al-Salihi was wounded, along with a number of his companions, including his brother.

Earlier, the southern leader appeared in a video clip, from the fronts south of Marib, which observers considered a message to the Brotherhood, which is mobilizing its militia towards the south at a time when the southerners are fighting in defense of the city of Marib.

Al-Salihi said in the video recording: From these mountains between Marib and Bayhan, we will defend Marib, in implementation of the Riyadh Agreement that we agreed upon to liberate Sanaa and the rest of the provinces from the Houthi militia.

Al-Salihi sent a message to the Islah party and its forces that are mobilizing in Shaqra, Shabwa and Hadramout, saying: We will liberate your areas in Marib and Bayhan from the Houthis until we reach Sanaa, stressing the stability of his position with the southern issue.
