Saudi Arabia: The situation in Yemen has reached a diplomatic and military dead end

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said that the situation in Yemen has reached a diplomatic and military impasse.

In an interview with France 24, the Saudi minister expressed his country's regret for the Houthi militia's failure to agree to the initiative launched by the Kingdom for a ceasefire in Yemen earlier this year.

He also denied information about the withdrawal of Saudi Arabia's forces from Yemen.

Regarding talks with Iran, he confirmed that they will continue, expecting an additional round of consultations soon.  He also pointed out that the previous four sessions of talks between the two sides were exploratory, not substantive.

The Saudi foreign minister has expressed strong reservations about Iran's nuclear negotiations, which are due to resume in a few weeks, citing Tehran's past deception over its nuclear activities.
