Al-Zubaidi receives the UN envoy and stresses the speedy implementation of the economic part of the Riyadh Agreement

The President of the Transitional Council, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, reiterated the importance of accelerating the implementation of the economic part of the Riyadh Agreement to address the economic crisis and stop the collapse of the local currency exchange rate, stressing that the slowdown in taking pivotal measures in this direction will exacerbate the situation and push it towards the unknown.

This came during his reception in his office in the capital, Aden, on Thursday, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Mr.Hans Grundberg, on his second visit to Aden, to discuss the latest political, economic, and military developments in the south and Yemen, and efforts to push for a comprehensive peace process.

In his talks with the UN envoy, he stressed the need to take urgent measures to stop the economic collapse that threatens the country with a complete collapse.

He pointed out that some other parties insist on weakening the parity government and not enabling it to bring about fundamental reforms that lead to stopping the economic and livelihood collapse that might lead to the situation getting out of control.

Al-Zubaidi also reiterated his support for the envoy's efforts towards a comprehensive negotiating process that reflects the reality of the parties on the ground, national issues and the real causes of the conflict, at the forefront of which is the issue of the people of the south, which the Southern Transitional Council holds.

For his part, the UN envoy expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Transitional Council and its positions in support of efforts to stop the war and establish peace.

The meeting was attended by Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, President of the National Assembly of the Transitional Council, Dr. Nasser Muhammad Al-Khabji, member of the Presidency and Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, Mr. Ali Al Kathiri, member of the Presidency of the Council, Vice President of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, the official spokesman for the Council, and Engineer Muhammad Al-Abadi, Deputy Head of the General Department of Foreign Affairs of the Council  .
