Member of Parliament, Sheikh Awad bin Al-Wazir Al-Awlaqi, explained that he made the decision to return from outside Yemen to Shabwa Governorate, based on his belief that serving national issues would only be from inside the country.
Sheikh Al-Awlaqi confirmed, in a video recording, to the delegations of tribes that flocked to his hometown, after arriving in the Nisab district, that he is one of the sons of Shabwa, and he will abide by what is agreed upon as a soldier of the province.
While he thanked the Arab coalition countries for their efforts and hosting the legitimacy officials, he stressed the need for officials to be present inside Yemen to serve the cause.
Sheikh Al-Awlaqi pointed out that he returned to serve Shabwa and does not represent parties or people, and said: "We are leaning on a historical popular tribal base, which existed before the creation of parties and the establishment of republics."
He said that he would invite all the people of Shabwa to an expanded meeting, and to form a committee to represent the people of the province from Bayhan to Balhaf, adding: "I am one of the sons of Shabwa."
The meeting aims to unify the tribes of Shabwa and close ranks to face the repercussions of the betrayal of Bayhan, as well as to counter new conspiracies aimed at handing over more areas of the governorate to the Houthi militia.
Earlier, tribal sources said that the meeting would discuss the repercussions of the betrayal of handing over Bayhan districts to the Houthi militias without a fight, and the subsequent repression and abuse that affected the tribes calling for a move to liberate them and expel the Houthis.
On Friday, hundreds of sons, sheikhs and dignitaries of the Shabwa tribes flocked to the Nisab district, to welcome Sheikh Awad Muhammad bin Al-Wazir Al-Awlaqi, who returned to the governorate on Thursday, after an absence of six years.
