Marib, NewsYemen, Private:

Leaders in the Houthi militia, and others from the Islah party, intensified messages of reassurance and flirtation, after major field gains for the Houthis, in the governorates of Shabwa and Marib, with the facilities of the Brotherhood militia.

Meanwhile, the Houthi leader, Hussein Al-Ezzi, appointed to the position of foreign minister in the militia government, which is not recognized internationally, alluded to understandings between his group and the Brotherhood, and said that they were for the sake of bloodshed."

Al-Ezzi’s hints came, within weeks, of the Brotherhood militia handing over the Bayhan districts in Shabwa governorate to the Houthis, without a fight, and in conjunction with a major military escalation by the Islah party, against the elite forces and tribesmen.

The Houthi leader said on his Twitter account, that there are consultations within the Islah party, to spare the bloodshed and hand over the districts of the city and the valley, which are all that is left of the Ma'rib governorate under the control of the Brotherhood, adding: "In Islah, we have brothers and opponents."

Reports had previously revealed that the Islah party moved to conclude understandings with the Houthis regarding the governorate of Marib and Shabwa, in preparation for reaching a more comprehensive agreement between the two groups, understandings that led to the withdrawal of the Brotherhood militia from the three Bayhan districts in addition to the Harib district in Marib, and handing it over without much fighting.

Field data came to confirm this information, as the Brotherhood, after the handover of Bayhan, headed for a new round of escalation against the Arab coalition and the forces of the Southern Transitional Council, especially in the governorates of Shabwa and Hadramout, while refusing any move to confront the Houthis and restore the three districts.

The organization also maintains large military forces affiliated with legitimacy, in Hadramawt Valley, Shabwa, and Al-Mahra, and refuses to move them to confront the Houthis in Marib and Bayhan, which confirms the Brotherhood's intention for an upcoming escalation in the south in coordination with the Houthi militia.

The statement issued by the Islah party and attributed to "the political parties and forces in the Ma'rib governorate" came in the context of the understandings with the Houthi group, especially as it focused on attacking the Arab coalition and holding it responsible for the failure on the fronts.

Subsequently, the Houthi leader, Muhammad al-Bakhiti, advised the Islah party leaders remaining outside the Ma’ab al-Tefaqat to give up the war and hand over the rest of the areas in Marib to his group, in exchange for ensuring the Brotherhood’s participation in the upcoming consultations.

Al-Bakhiti considered, in a tweet on his Twitter account, that his group's control of the city of Ma'rib has become a matter of time, adding: "The Islah party must hand over the city peacefully in order to avoid bloodshed," in return for his group to take over the rest of the land of Yemen, as he claimed.

In addition, the official in the Houthi media, Hamid Rizk, said, "There are brothers in the Islah party who have become closer to the decision and the right thing than ever before," adding that he had friends and relatives whose maturity he did not expect and resentment of the Arab coalition as they are today.”
