Aden, NewsYemen:

A local mediator for the exchange of prisoners in Al-Jawf Governorate revealed, on Monday, that he had completed an agreement between the army forces and the Houthi militia, which provides for the exhumation of all the bodies from the northeastern axis and their unconditional exchange between the two sides.

Mediator Hadi Jamaan said on his Twitter account: In continuation of the local mediation efforts, on Sunday, October 17, 2021, 12 bodies were recovered and exchanged between the two sides of the conflict, from the axis to the northeast, border guards.

He explained that he had made an agreement and understanding between the two parties to the conflict to retrieve all the bodies, and the exchange between them was completely unconditional.

This comes days after the mediator Jamaan announced the agreement with the Sixth Military District, provided that the bodies that fell to both sides would be completely delivered without any conditions or restrictions.

He added that he will exhume and deliver the bodies and hand them over to their families and the competent authorities before they decompose, expressing his hope that the rest of the military regions will follow the example of the Sixth Region.

On Thursday, October 7, Jamaan was able to deliver 4 bodies belonging to the army after they were recovered from the Jadafer front to the Marib governorate and handed over to the families of the victims and the competent authority, in exchange for the removal of two bodies belonging to the Houthi group and delivering them to Al-Hazm.

Since 2015, peace activist Hadi Jamaan has managed to evacuate more than 1,000 bodies of dead fighters and negotiate the exchange of more than 220 prisoners between the warring parties, according to Nadwa Al-Dosari, a Yemeni researcher at the Middle East Institute in Washington.
