Aden, NewsYemen:

A human rights report revealed, on Wednesday, that the Houthi militia committed 2,451 violations in the Abdiya district of Marib governorate, eastern Yemen, within 20 days.

The report issued by the Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms affirmed that more than 35,000 residents of Al-Abdiya suffer from a suffocating siege imposed by the Houthi militia, and they are also living a human tragedy due to the loss of medical services.

The report, entitled "Al-Abdiya...between killing and siege," documented the deaths of many civilians, as a result of the Houthi indiscriminate bombing of populated areas in the district, with ballistic missiles and drones, as well as mortars, howitzers, tank shells, and heavy and medium weapons.

The Houthi bombing resulted in the killing of 9 civilians, including women and children, and the injury of more than 123 civilians, including 38 women and 15 children, with various injuries.

Also, 400 homes were destroyed, about 182 farms belonging to citizens, and 6 agricultural water pumps were destroyed, and more than 320 vehicles and 6 ambulances were damaged, according to the report.

The report pointed out that Al-Abdiyyah is suffering from a severe shortage of all basic requirements, especially food and medicine, as a result of the stifling siege imposed by the militias.

According to the report, the Houthis have carried out massive kidnappings of everyone who belongs to the Abdiya district, where more than 980 cases of arrests and enforced disappearances have been recorded since the beginning of 2017, and until this October, most of them are still in militia prisons.

He warned that no less than 9,827 children in Abdiya suffer from malnutrition, of whom 2,465 suffer from acute malnutrition, while 3,451 women need health care, at a time when this siege deprives 407 chronic diseases of treatment and makes them struggle with death.

The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms confirmed that these crimes committed by the Houthi militia against the people of the Abdiya district amount to war crimes against humanity, amounting to genocide.

The report called on all international, local and regional organizations, all activists, media professionals, the media, and the international community to exercise all means of pressure to lift the suffocating siege on the residents of the Abdiya district and to remove the mines planted by the militias at the entrances and exits of the city.
