A propaganda video for the so-called "war media" of the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, showed new Iranian weapons on the battlefronts with government forces, in the north of the country.
The clip shows members of the Houthi militia, using Iranian-made guided anti-armor missiles, at the "Medgal" front in Marib Governorate, east of Sana'a, in a new confirmation of Tehran's involvement in arming its militias in Yemen.
The video contains footage of Houthi fighters using Iranian BGM-71 TOW/Toophan ATGMs in military operations in Marib.
Iran's support for the Houthi militia is not limited to short missiles and medium weapons, but extends beyond that to ballistic missile technology and drones.
Earlier, a United Nations report confirmed that the Houthis are still equipped with ballistic missiles and drones that "have similar characteristics" to weapons manufactured in Iran.
In the confidential report to the Security Council, the panel of experts said it "continues to believe" that short-range ballistic missiles, as well as other weapons, were sent from Iran to Yemen after the arms embargo was imposed in 2015.
The report said that weapons used by the Houthis and analyzed recently - including missiles and drones - "show characteristics similar to weapons systems known to be manufactured in the Iranian Republic."
"It appears that despite the arms embargo, the Houthis are still acquiring ballistic missiles and drones in order to continue, and likely intensify, their campaign against targets in Saudi Arabia," the report added.
