Marib, NewsYemen:

On Thursday, a prominent leader of the popular resistance in the Marib governorate survived an assassination attempt with a car bomb in the Al-Abr district of Hadhramaut governorate, eastern Yemen.

Local sources said that a booby-trapped bus parked on the side of the road exploded when a saloon car carrying Sheikh Ali bin Hassan bin Gharib was approaching on the road between Al-Abr city and Al-Wadeah port.

It added that Sheikh Bin Gharib survived the assassination while the car suffered some damage.

It explained that Ibn Gharib was in the car with a number of his relatives and companions on his way to Marib Governorate from Saudi Arabia.
