US envoy: Houthi manipulation of fuel prices exacerbates Yemeni suffering

 The US special envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, stressed that the Houthi militia's manipulation of fuel prices is exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the country.

The Houthi militia uses the file of oil ships to blackmail citizens in its areas of influence and trade in their suffering, after it overturned an agreement under the auspices of the United Nations regarding customs fees and taxes on imports of oil derivatives that reach the ports of Hodeidah.

Earlier, the legitimate government called on the international community and the United Nations to stand up to Houthi blackmail regarding oil derivatives, as well as to use the suffering of civilians as a card in the conflict.
