The Southern Transitional Council welcomed the appointment of HE Hans Grundberg as the new Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Yemen.

Ali Abdullah Al Kathiri, the official spokesman for the Southern Transitional Council, a member of the Presidency, said in a brief statement, "The council looks forward to working with the new UN envoy towards the success of efforts to achieve a comprehensive and just peace process that enables our southern people to achieve their national aspirations and goals and enforce their legitimate will."
