Mocha, NewsYemen, private:

The efforts of the cleaning sector in the city of Mocha face several difficulties, including the lack of manpower and the lack of trucks designated to transport waste outside the city.

The cleaning official, Aiban Rizk, told NewsYemen that the expansion of Mocha's lanes to 16 lanes, compared to 9 lanes years ago, compounded the difficulties of workers' inability to carry out cleaning work in every neighborhood daily.

He added that two trucks designated for transporting garbage to the main landfill were no longer enough, after three trucks broke down.

He explained that the cleaning sector needs 3 additional trucks, to be able to transport waste and garbage to its main place outside the city, or urgently repair the broken trucks to return to work.

The number of workers in the cleaning sector is about 56, but the person in charge of that sector says that he needs 14 additional workers to distribute them to the new neighborhoods.

Aiban Rizk called on the residents of Mocha to contribute to making the city a view worthy of it, by placing garbage bags in their correct places, and not throwing empty bags and cans everywhere.

The cleaners had carried out a limited strike about a month ago to protest against the delay in monthly wages.
