Aden, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Legitimacy is still using Aden’s electricity as a tool to manipulate it against the south and the Transitional Council for political calculations, as it refuses to pay the dues for the purchased energy, which also stopped its stations, which caused a long-hour interruption in the city of Aden.

Southern politicians accused the owners of the purchased energy of extortion by refusing to operate the stations despite the fulfillment of special financial procedures and the commitment of the governor of the capital, Aden Ahmed Lamlas, to pay the full dues within a week if the government continues to procrastinate.

According to well-informed sources in Aden Electricity, the lease contract for the purchased energy concluded by the Brotherhood’s legitimacy with the energy owners is a corruption contract, which is large sums with which the government can buy new generators, as the government is obligated to provide fuel, workers and filters, and the company’s owners have to generate the generator only.

Political activist Ahmed al-Rubaizi said that the energy companies purchased, the fuel of which is free, are paid by the state and are obligated according to unfair contracts concluded by corrupt officials within the previous and current corruption system in successive governments.

Al-Rubaizi added, in a post to him on Facebook, that the purchased energy oils are among what the government buys and are obligated to do so according to the contracts concluded, in addition to the filters that are changed, which are dozens of types, and they get them from the state, which buys them, and the smallest filter is not less than 100 worth.  dollar.

Al-Rubaizi pointed out that what the purchased energy companies lose is only the salaries of their engineers, most of whom are employees of the Electricity Corporation and contractors with the companies that own these generators, which have stopped today.

What are the solutions?

Southern journalist Hussein Hanshi said that the solutions to the electricity problem in Aden are for the local authorities in the governorate to take the matter on their shoulders with the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council.

Al-Hanashi added, in a post to him on Facebook, that the local authority and the Transitional Council must pay the full dues for the energy purchased in the old contract, end the contract, impose a new contract that does not contain this corruption, and oblige traders at reasonable price and procedures and a reasonable amount, and if they refuse, dealing with them is terminated and the door for investment is opened.

Hanshi added, that the Aden Authority and the Transitional Council should carry out a campaign to demarcate all beneficiaries of electricity in Aden with meters with a legal form in which this meter does not mean the formality of the property and that the formality of the property is left to deal between housing, land and owners.

And it conducts a campaign to go down on the defaulters after the service is stabilized for a month, and the accumulated ones are paid in installments on the monthly bill, in addition to the amount consumed each month.

The Petromasila station, called the President’s station, is entered, and the connection and fuel forms are resolved with the Petromasila Company, since it is responsible for the station, and since the station operates with crude oil, and a contract with the company to ensure the continuation of a permanent and smooth supply of fuel before it runs out.

Al-Hanashi said that the authority and the Transitional Council should monitor administrative and financial corruption, collect revenues, gradually reform the network, and put a red line with the government and legitimacy that electricity cannot be allowed to be a central government file that is manipulated, and that it is a local file for the local authority. In any difficult situation, the local authority and the Transitional Council can  The government's law and bureaucracy have been disregarded, and the file was disposed of locally, and sums were withdrawn from the bank or the governorate's revenues, even outside their laws, which are used for torture and procrastination, and to set red lines around that.
