NewsYemen ,Special, Qaten:

His daily wage is not sufficient to meet his daily needs and basic household items, so how about slaughtering a sacrifice or buying several kilos of Eid meat, construction worker Yasser Qawqah said, "The situation has become very bad."

Koukah held the government responsible for the weak citizens and the extreme poverty that occurs in the country and the resulting severe malnutrition, childhood illness and poverty that develops to death from starvation and the failure to ask people their need for food, pointing out that all means of living have become difficult, as neither government cares about what happens nor anyone  He has an authority that knows how the suffering of the people is in light of the ever increasing power outages.

Attention is drawn to the livestock markets in the cities of the Hadhramaut Valley these days, a reality that not only buyers, but even livestock dealers complain about.  Because their prices rose automatically in conjunction with the decline of the local currency and the rise of foreign ones, and the import of livestock in hard currency and the cost of transporting them, which will be borne by the consumer.

The sheep market, located in the center of the cotton city in the east of the country, is eagerly awaiting its customers. It usually increases in the days before Eid, but prices do not bode well and some accept to ask and bargain with accurate accounts that may strain their pockets;  Although being able is one of the most important conditions for the sacrifice, it is certainly not an obligation, but it is certain how to acquire Eid meat.

All this coincides with a crazy rise in various goods and services, which necessitates many to set a priority schedule. The order of priority for the sacrifice may be advanced or delayed according to the financial situation of each person.

Unusually at this time of the year, the sheep market seems largely devoid of customers. The poor economic situation and the irregular payment of employees’ salaries have prompted many to give up buying Eid meat despite the livestock traders importing half the number of livestock needed by Wadi Hadramout on this occasion.  According to the sheep breeder, "Mohamed Fararah", with "Newsmen", adding that the turnout of citizens has fallen to an unprecedented level compared to previous years.

While the citizen, "Salem Abdel-Sheikh" attributed to "Newsmen" the decline in the demand for the purchase of sacrificial animals to factors, foremost of which is the collapse of the local currency against foreigners, the high unemployment rate and the suspension of many work;  Due to the conditions of the war, in addition to the displacement from the areas controlled by the Houthi militias.

The United Nations ranked Yemen as the poorest Arab country, at 75 percent, compared to 47 percent before the start of the war in 2014, summarizing that the total of those who need humanitarian assistance is estimated at more than twenty million.

Under these circumstances, failure threatens the current season, which will have negative effects on livestock traders, and it is a microcosm of the nature of the economic conditions taking place in the country in general, which suffers from almost complete paralysis due to situations and crises that seem to have no solutions in the foreseeable future.
