Aden, NewsYemen:

The hours of power outages in the capital, Aden, increased, coinciding with the approach of Eid, after a number of generators for the General Electricity Corporation's stations stopped, due to the running out of diesel fuel.

The Aden Electricity Corporation renewed its appeal to the government to intervene urgently and immediately by providing diesel fuel to re-enter the stations for service and raise generation.

The General Electricity Corporation of Aden also warns against the total exit of the stations in the coming hours in the event of failure to respond to the provision of fuel.

The Director-General of the General Electricity Corporation, Salem Al-Walidi, had launched an urgent appeal to the government, represented by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Electricity and other concerned parties, to expedite the payment of the dues of the purchased energy companies that were overdue for months.

Al-Walidi called on the concerned authorities to look at the extent of the suffering experienced by the people of the capital, Aden, due to the aggravation of the hours of power outages in light of the high temperatures.
