A Saudi-Omani statement: Supporting the Kingdom’s initiative to end the Yemeni crisis and alleviate the suffering of Yemenis

 The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman agreed to continue their efforts to find a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis based on the Gulf initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the Dialogue Conference and UN Security Council Resolution No. (2216).

 This came in a joint statement issued by the two sides following the official visit of Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The joint statement affirmed support for the Saudi initiative to end the Yemeni crisis and alleviate the suffering of Yemenis. The statement also stressed cooperation and dealing seriously with Iran's nuclear and missile file.

He stressed "the importance of cooperation and dealing seriously and effectively with the Iranian nuclear and missile file with all its components and repercussions, in a way that contributes to achieving regional and international security and stability, affirming the principles of good-neighbourliness, respecting UN resolutions and international legitimacy, and sparing the entire region from destabilizing activities."

According to the official Saudi Press Agency, "SPA," a session of talks was held between the Saudi monarch and the Sultan of Oman, in which they reviewed "the prospects for joint cooperation and ways to develop it in various fields," praising the "cooperation and coordination that has been achieved in the political, military and security fields, in order to achieve security and stability for the two countries." 

The two sides exchanged views on "issues and issues of concern to the two countries on the regional and international arenas," and affirmed "working to coordinate their positions to serve their interests, and support and enhance security and stability in the region and the world."
