Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

Exasperation and wide reactions after the Houthi militia issued a decision not to accept any master's or doctoral dissertation before it was presented to the newly appointed supervisor.

The decision emphasized that no research thesis title would be passed before it was approved by the "Advisor to the President of Sana'a University for Cultural Affairs", a new designation that was invented by the Iranian arm to restrict student researchers.

Which was met with disapproval by many university doctors, as what is happening is in violation of all applicable laws in scientific and academic research within universities.

Some considered that this deal, which comes within the framework of what they called "preserving the faith identity", in addition to 9 other points included in the decision, all working to destroy what was left of the educational process inside the university corridors.

Academics considered the decision an insult to the minds of researchers and institutional work. It also engineered the distortion of the entire academic work, and that it came within the framework of dealing with clothing stores that had been confiscated during the past few days without separating and respecting freedoms.

Watching books

Among the points included in the decision is to monitor the content of libraries, and this tends to unilateral thinking in the sense that they will confiscate all books that do not conform to their ideological project, their culture and their “faith identity” through which they seek to mold society in general.

In the same context, observers and academics warned against the continuation of issuing such decisions, which will cost higher education a lot and will affect thousands of students.

Reports indicate that these decisions or steps in which the "cultural advisor" was created for the university president and the appointment of a person qualified with a bachelor's degree came after there was a cultural supervisor who controlled all university decisions.

According to the university’s laws, these decisions come in order to change all the regulations and structure of the university system, including the president, deputies, deans and deans, and replace them with high school graduates and others, as was said in Dhamar University, Sana’a University, and others.

The severity of these decisions

It should be noted that the seriousness of these decisions is that they have catastrophic consequences for the entire educational process, whether in the primary, secondary or university stages.

Especially since there is a clear trend on the part of the educational authorities in the neighboring Arab countries and many countries of the world not to accredit the degrees of Yemeni universities.

Not to mention that some countries have started an admission test for expatriates who seek to continue university education, even those who are in the basic stages of elementary, middle and high school students.

Faced with all these reactions and the classification of education and the educational process in Yemen as a failure, Iran's arm has not taken any action, but rather it is working to complicate the problem further.

There is a trend revealed by some workers in the Ministry of Education that the Houthis are on the way to a comprehensive change of the basic education curricula, and that there have been changes in some subjects that have reached 80% so far, which may lead parents to refrain from sending their children to school.
