Aden, NewsYemen:

The Omani Foreign Minister, Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, praised, on Saturday, what he called "the Iranian supportive role for efforts to achieve peace in Yemen," at a time when world capitals are uniting that Tehran is the biggest obstacle to peace in the country.

Al-Busaidi considered that "the Iranian role in Yemen is supportive of efforts to achieve peace and stability in this country, denying the existence of an Omani initiative on Yemen." as he put it.

He said, "His country's diplomatic and political moves in the recent period are considered compromise endeavors among all," believing that all parties wish to settle the Yemeni crisis and seek peace, and that Muscat is working to help everyone by following a theory or concept of convergence of views, and settling any differences.

Al-Busaidi stated that his country is working to support Saudi political efforts in this context, especially the Riyadh Agreement, and to try to end the conflict in Yemen on a ground of respect among all, pushing Yemen to the desired stability, and even working for the safe coexistence of all parties.

In an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, the Omani official stressed support for the efforts of the United Nations in Yemen, especially what is being done by the envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen, where Muscat is in constant coordination with him, as well as with the American envoy.
