Taiz, NewsYemen:

The Islah Party, the Brotherhood’s branch, continues its administrative coup against the local authority and restricting citizens’ lives by imposing double taxes on food and consumer items, and confiscating the revenues of revenue-generating enterprises.

Activists leaked an agreement between the local authority represented by Governor Aref Jamil and the leaders of the Taiz axis (axis commander, chief of staff, chief of operations, advisor) during a meeting they gathered last Tuesday.

The agreement between the Brotherhood’s local and military authorities stipulated an increase in passport fees from 3,500 riyals to 7,000 riyals, and the revenues would be transferred to the axis account in the Central Bank branch in the city.

According to the agreement, they decided to double the customs duties on motorcycles and vehicles, and oblige the customs office to supply the axle’s share to their account in the Central Bank.

The meeting agreed to set up a customs point at the entrance to the governorate with the aim of collecting customs taxes on all materials entering the governorate, adding the new fees allocated to the axis, and transferring them to their account.

They also obligated the Director General of the Tax Office, through the qat tax contractor, to deliver two million riyals per day to the axis, in addition to the fees allocated to the local authority and transfer them to the axis account.

The meeting agreed to hand over the revenues from taxes on petroleum products, cigarettes, fireworks and other revenues to the axis's account in the bank.

In addition, the agreement confirmed the continuation of the axis to go down and agree with the rest of the revenue government institutions to impose taxes and added fees and transfer them to their account in the Central Bank.

According to the agreement, the amounts will be disbursed from the axis's account at the Central Bank through checks signed by the axis commander, Major General Khaled Fadel, and supervised by the axis's advisor, Brigadier General Abdo Farhan Al-Mikhlafi (Salem), and the axis's chief of staff, Brigadier Abdulaziz Al-Majidi.
