Battle of Al-Bayda..the joint forces break a Houthi attack to restore Al-Zaher

Al-Bayda, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

On Thursday evening, a joint force of the Southern Giants Brigades and the local resistance defeated the Houthi militia from the "Al-Zaher" district of Al-Bayda Governorate (central Yemen), after fierce battles that lasted for hours.

Tribal sources told NewsYemen that the joint forces resolved the clashes that erupted after a counter-attack launched by the Houthi militia, under heavy cover of fire, in an attempt to regain the positions they had lost during the past days.

It stated that the tribesmen, backed by the giants' brigades, regained the initiative on the ground after a major attack by the Houthis had managed to make a breakthrough to the outskirts of "Al-Zaher”

Earlier on Thursday morning, a militia pushed large numbers of militants in a large-scale attack, with the participation of tanks and vehicles, in an attempt to regain control of the district center and other sites that it had lost earlier.

After the attack, armed confrontations erupted between the two parties, in which dozens of Houthi militants were killed, before the joint forces regained field control and forced the militia to retreat.
