Aden, NewsYemen:

The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Peter Maurer, stressed the difficult conditions experienced by the displaced in the camps, as well as the suffering of patients in hospitals, confirming that Yemen is witnessing one of the largest crises in the world today.

During his recent visit to Yemen, he said that the humanitarian needs in Yemen are great, and unfortunately the world's attention is waning with the deterioration of the situation in Yemen.

Maurer added, "What surprised me most is the large numbers of displaced and sick people, which reflect the depth of the Yemeni crisis."

He continued: “I have seen the suffering of the displaced, I have seen women who have been forced to be displaced and who have suffered from violence.  I also watched how they find their way back to life through some activities that benefit  them to support their families.”
