Official documents obtained by NewsYemen revealed the looting of large quantities of diesel allocated from the oil company's branch in Ma'rib Governorate to one of the governorate's power stations over a period of years.
Some of those documents issued by the Harib power station show that the quantities of diesel allocated to the station (purchased energy) that were stolen in January of the year 2021 amount to 76,719, in March 47528 and in April 40,971.
That is, the total amount of diesel stolen from the station (which the documents described as a deficit) during 3 months of this year amounted to 165,218 liters, i.e. more than 800 barrels at a time when the Directorate was plunged into complete darkness (due to the absence of diesel at the station).
These thefts are not the result of the moment, but an extension of thefts that have been going on for years. This was revealed by an official document confirming that the quantities of diesel stolen during the period from March 1 to March 17, 2019 amounted to 39,711 liters.
Where are the stolen items?
According to one of the documents of the Marib branch of the oil company, the share of the Harib station of diesel is one million three hundred and sixty thousand and eight hundred liters per month.
Government agencies exchange accusations, while sources accused Safer refineries of a shortage in quantities,
Confirming that the quantities shipped on board locomotives from the oil company Safir refineries are less than what is recorded in the documents of the company's entrusted shipping orders.
On the other hand, sources in the oil company denied this, and blamed the contractors for transporting diesel to the station, citing previous accusations made by the director of the Marib Electricity District, Abdul Hadi Al-Shabwani, to Abdullah Darman Al-Arada, Talib Al-Aqili and Hassan Ali Silan (who undertake the transportation of diesel from Safer to the station) with the large deficits in diesel, which It led to the complete extinguishment of the Harib station.
He indicated in 3 official memos addressed to the aforementioned that they had previously been notified of this without doing anything about it.
According to a source at the Harib station, part of the looted quantity is what diesel transporters take, which ranges between 3000 - 4000 liters for each (white) load they deliver, and this is something everyone knows.
The Director General of Harib Electricity Salem Ahmed Al-Najjar, and with news of his imminent dismissal from his position, revealed that the approved quantity of Harib Electricity is 45,000 liters of diesel per day, but that the quantity is only about 26,000 liters, meaning that the lost quantity of diesel is about 19,000 liters.
While he indicated that the missing quantity is between the oil company and the contractors for transporting diesel, he explained at the same time that there are directives from the governor, Major General Al-Arada regarding this corruption, but the oil company treats it lightly.
Subsequently, the director of the oil company, Ali Muhammad bin Jalal, directed the formation of an investigation committee. But the director of Harib Electricity confirmed that Ibn Jalal was aware of the shortage in every white, whether at the level of Harib station and the rest of the governorate’s stations, and that he had documents to prove this, stressing that he did not take any action in this regard.
