Washington, NewsYemen:

The US envoy to Yemen revealed that his country is seeking to impose sanctions on two military commanders of the Houthi militia, including the leader Yusef Al-Madani, responsible for the Marib attack.

Tim Lenderking said, Thursday, that the Houthis do not have any positive step to deal with the solution, stressing that the Houthis are endangering the lives of one million people in Marib.

He pointed out that the Houthis have backed away from their commitments, and that the fragile humanitarian situation in Yemen places the Yemenis in front of great dangers.

Lenderking stressed that the ceasefire is the only way for the Yemenis to obtain the humanitarian aid they need, considering that the Houthi attack on Marib is "pointless."

He said that the international parties are making efforts with the Houthi militia to stop the attack on Marib, but the militias do not have any positive step to deal with the solution.

He explained that the Houthi attack on Marib has not progressed much, and this indicates the defensive ability of the Yemeni forces.

He stressed that the United States notes Iranian support for the Houthis in terms of training and arming.
