Aden, NewsYemen:

Oman's Minister of Energy and Minerals, Muhammad bin Hamad al-Ramahi, said that his country wants to revive plans to import Iranian gas via the pipeline in the event of the nuclear agreement being restored, indicating that Oman is studying expanding the network of private gas pipelines to Yemen.

"The proposed pipeline will extend from the South Pars gas field in Iran to Sohar in northern Oman, where the current pipeline extends to Salalah near the Yemeni border," the Omani minister added, in a press statement published by the S&P Global Platts platform.

Al-Ramahi stated that the pipeline could then be extended to Yemen, which would be in urgent need of gas, indicating that there are many opportunities for good use of this project from Oman's point of view.

He said, "Yemen will enjoy peace one day .. On the day they sign a peace agreement, the first thing they will ask for is energy .. There is a need for gas in a country like Yemen to start the transition from conflict to creating industries and opportunities for their people .. These opportunities could be) Be an increase in the industry. "

The Omani minister indicated that in addition to re-exporting Iranian gas to Yemen, Oman will look to using some of it in industry, increasing its ability to produce liquefied natural gas and petrochemicals, and perhaps delving into the hydrogen field.
