Aden, NewsYemen:

The World Bank agreed to finance the Food Security Response Project and the Resilience Project in Yemen, which will be implemented through the (FAO), the World Food Program and the United Nations Development Program.

The approval included an IDA grant of $ 100 million and a grant from the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program of $ 27 million.

Dr. Wa'ed Badeeb, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, said that the development objective of the project is to improve the availability and access to food and meals, in the short and medium term, for the targeted families in the project area, and to strengthen Yemen's ability to respond to food insecurity. According to what was reported by the Yemeni News Agency, "Saba", in its version in Aden and Riyadh.

According to Louis Badeeb, the project has five components:

(A) Improving household income through cash-for-work for agricultural production infrastructure and building climate resilience.

(B) Increasing the production and sale of nutritious crops, livestock and fish products.

(C) Improving the nutritional status of vulnerable rural families.

(D) Capacity building for food security management and climate resilience.

(E) Project management and knowledge management.

The project will serve as a scalable platform that will provide complementary short and medium term tools to enhance food security in Yemen, as well as allow flexibility to adapt to the evolving food security situation.

Minister Badeeb expressed Yemen's confidence and aspiration for more strategic support from the World Bank Group and an increase in Yemen's allocations under the twentieth renewal of the International Finance Corporation.
