Mocha, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Abdul-Malik Al-Sharabi, director of the port of Al-Mocha, the oldest port in the Arabian Peninsula, said that it was destroyed and a massive looting operation by the Houthi militia affected all his possessions, before the joint forces expelled them from large areas of the western coast.

Al-Sharabi added that the Houthi militia was keen to destroy the port so that it would not be used, and looted all its possessions, from lighting poles to cranes.

He stressed that the port needs great efforts and sums of money to meet all its needs, which will contribute to its re-operation.

He pointed out that the port, which was 8 meters deep, had been reduced to 6 meters, due to the silt, which required carrying out lifting operations for these materials, in order to be able to receive large ships.

He ruled out operating the port in the near future, given the great needs that need to be provided, expressing his thanks for the efforts made by the Leader of the National Resistance, Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh, in helping to restart the port of Mocha.
