Marib, NewsYemen:

The leader of the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - Abdullah Al-Mutawakel, was killed and a number of his companions in a raid by the Arab coalition warplanes on a gathering of the group at the Serwah front in the Marib governorate.

Al-Mutawakel is the field commander responsible for the militia’s war operations in the Sarwah area, and the militia granted him a hypothetical rank (brigadier general) and assumed the position (hypothetically) as the staff of the central military region, which is the former Republican Guard.

On Monday, the Saudi-led Arab coalition launched focused raids targeting the Houthi militia sites and reinforcements in the districts of Serwah and Meddhal in the Marib governorate.

On Monday evening, clashes erupted between the Houthi militia on one side, and the army and tribesmen on the other side, between the districts of Jabal Murad and Rahba, south of Marib governorate.

Since the militia resumed its escalation on Marib at the beginning of last February, the army forces and the Murad and Bani Abd tribes have been able to deter the offensive attempts of the Houthis, who have so far been unable to make any progress on all the fighting fronts south of Marib.
