Martin Griffiths condemns the killing of a child and wounding others by Houthi fire in Taiz

The UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, condemned the bombing by the Houthi militia, Iran's arm, of a residential area on Saturday in the central city of Taiz.

"I condemn yesterday's attack on a residential area in Taiz, which resulted in the death of a child and the injury of others. The children of Yemen deserve to live in peace and safety," Griffiths said in a tweet on his Twitter page.

Griffiths reiterated in his tweet, in which he did not specify the perpetrator, that "the attacks on civilians are a violation of international humanitarian law. The perpetrators must be investigated and held accountable."

The Houthi militia bombed, on Saturday evening, the 7th of July neighborhood in the Rawda district, north of Taiz, and the bombing killed the child Muhammad Abdul Wahid Hazbar, 10 years old, and two other children and a citizen were wounded, and they were seriously injured.
