The European Union's Foreign Relations Committee said, in a statement, quoting the spokesman, today, Monday, that the European Union is concerned about reports of renewed attacks by the Houthis on the governorates of Marib and Al-Jawf, and repeated attempts of cross-border attacks on Saudi Arabia.

The committee added that the renewed military operations seriously undermine the ongoing efforts of the United Nations Special Envoy and the efforts of the international community to end the war in Yemen.

The European Union stressed the urgent need to reach a comprehensive political settlement for Yemen, and welcomed the new US administration's review of its policy towards Yemen.

In addition, the European Union mission commended, on Monday, the Yemeni government's determination to remain in the country and affirmed the Union's firm support for it by "working together to address the multiple challenges."

The Yemeni News Agency (Saba) reported that the ambassadors participating in the mission, which concluded today a visit to the temporary capital of Aden, also affirmed their support for the efforts of the United Nations special envoy and "the urgent need to reach a comprehensive political settlement for the whole of Yemen."

The European delegation, which included ambassadors of Belgium, Germany, Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Finland and Sweden, and the deputy ambassador of Norway to Yemen, met with Yemeni Prime Minister Moein Abdel-Malek, ministers and representatives of local civil society, international non-governmental organizations and United Nations agencies in Aden.

The ambassadors stressed the importance of improving the living conditions of Yemenis and encouraging the government to "advance its efforts in fighting corruption". They emphasized the European interest in addressing humanitarian needs and improving the comprehensive economic development in the long term in the country, and called for granting full and unimpeded humanitarian access.
