The Director General of the Coast Guard, the Red Sea Sector, Colonel Abdul Jabbar Al-Zahzouh, said Saturday that the rebuilding of the forces is continuing at a high pace, with the support and relentless follow-up of the Leader of the National Resistance, a member of the Joint Command in the West Coast Front, Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh.
Colonel Al-Zahzouh indicated, in a press statement, that Brigadier General Tariq Saleh stresses the importance of coast guard forces, securing liberated coasts and international navigation in the context of the Yemeni people's open battle to restore the state from the grip of the Houthi militia.
He said, "The Coast Guard forces in the Red Sea sector have gone a long way in the path of rebuilding and rehabilitating the force and have made important achievements in the context of carrying out the tasks entrusted to them along the western coast from Bab al-Mandab in the south to the Al-Mandhar area in the city of Hodeidah in the north ... and the Yemeni waters and the liberated islands in the Red Sea.
He added: What has been achieved is the fruit of the great support from the leader of the national resistance, Brigadier General Tariq Saleh, as well as the Arab coalition and the presidency of the Coast Guard.
He pointed out that the rebuilding began in 2018 with a secret, then a brigade, and now the Coast Guard is an integrated force with high capabilities and qualifications in all specialties that enabled it to achieve several operations that were highly successful.
The Coast Guard commander in the Red Sea sector confirmed that several weapons and drug smuggling operations, most of which are linked to the Houthi militia affiliated with Iran, headed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Cell, have been seized for smuggling weapons.
