Violent confrontations are taking place, on Saturday, between southern forces, on the one hand, and the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, on the other hand, in the town of Maris, in the north of Al-Dhalea Governorate (in the south of the country).
Field sources told "NewsYemen" that southern forces penetrated the defenses of the Houthi militia, at the Meris front, earlier today, Saturday, and took control of "Al-Kafrat", "Al-Sabaa" and "Beit Walid" sites.
The southern forces' attack resulted in the killing and wounding of dozens of Houthis, while the militia retreated towards its late positions south of Damt.
Later, the Houthi militia resorted to hysterical bombing, using heavy artillery, after suffering severe field and human losses during the confrontations of the past hours.
According to the sources, the scope of the clashes between the two sides expanded to the eastern axis of the Murais front, amid heavy gunfire.
