Al-Zubaidi: The implementation of the Riyadh Agreement is a real opportunity to unify military efforts to confront the Houthis

The head of the Transitional Council, Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, said, on Thursday, that the efforts of the Saudi-led coalition reflect its concern for the region's security and stability, stressing that the Riyadh Agreement is a real opportunity for peace.

In statements to the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Al-Zubaidi valued the efforts made by the brothers in the Arab coalition countries led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to implement the mechanism to accelerate the Riyadh Agreement, which reflects their keenness and pioneering role in protecting the security and stability of the region, and uniting political and military efforts towards confronting the threats of the Houthi militia and terrorist and extremist groups as well as thwarting hostile plans that target Arab national security.

He added, "The final agreement has been reached on the government's list of political competencies emanating from the Riyadh Agreement, and it will be announced next week in conjunction with the implementation of the military arrangements, followed by the implementation of the remaining provisions of the Riyadh Agreement, including the formation of the joint negotiating delegation for the comprehensive political process."

The head of the transitional council said that the Riyadh agreement “represents a real opportunity for peace in the south and Yemen, and provides a pivotal station on the road to achieving the goals and legitimate aspirations of our people. From this standpoint, the council will remain a strategic partner with our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab coalition countries in various related files and issues.  Until achieving and securing all common interests and goals ».

Al-Zubaidi stressed that the council considers with great appreciation the efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince, and the Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman, “towards supporting the development and reconstruction process in the liberated southern governorates, and alleviating the suffering of our citizens, by supporting development and relief programs and building institutions.  And the provision of public services ».
