Killing, kidnapping and torture ... a human rights network documenting 4,282 Houthi violations against women

A human rights report revealed that the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, committed (4282) violations against Yemeni women, which varied between (1456) murder cases and (2,379) injuries in addition to (447) cases of kidnapping, disappearance and torture.
The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms said, on Wednesday, that the violations were distributed in (17) governorates, namely (Al-Hodeidah, Al-Dhalea, Taiz, Hajjah, Dhamar, Lahj, Marib, Rayma, Shabwah, Ibb, Abyan, Amanat Al-Asimah, Al-Bayda, Al-Jawf, Saada, Sanaa. , Aden, and Amran).
According to the network, Taiz governorate topped the list of women killed by the Houthis with (1802) murder cases, then Hodeidah (219) murder cases, followed by Aden governorate with (58) murder cases, then Lahj (42) cases of murder, followed by Ma'rib (41) cases of murder. The same applies to Al-Jawf Governorate (41) cases of killing.
Al-Dhalea governorate is ranked seventh, as is the governorate of Abyan, in the south of the country (34).
The network's field team in Al-Bayda governorate recorded (26) cases of killing, while the rest of the numbers were distributed to the other governorates (Ibb, Amanat Al-Asimah, Al-Mahwit, Dhamar, Rayma, Shabwa, Saada, Sana'a, and Amran).
The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms team investigated the killing of (274) women as a result of the explosion of mines planted by the Houthi militia in the streets and public roads and inside residential neighborhoods, farms, grazing places and markets, among them (76) women were killed with mines and IEDs in Taiz governorate and (49) in Al-Jawf governorate. In the east of the country, (26) in Al Hudaydah governorate, and (21) women were killed by Houthi mines in Al Dhalea governorate, while the rest of the numbers are distributed over the rest of the governorates.
The team recorded the fall of (124) women killed by snipers of the Houthi militia in (9) governorates, among them (68) women were killed by bullets from the Houthi militia in Taiz governorate, (22) women in Hodeidah and (18) other women in Aden, to be distributed the rest The numbers for other provinces.
In addition, (91) cases of killing of women were reported by Al-Houthi militia bullets in (16) governorates, and (46) cases of killing of women at the hands of the Houthi coup militia in (9) governorates with other incidents that varied between stabbings, run over with crews, beatings with fists or Cause death.
According to the statement, (16) incidents of extrajudicial executions committed by the Houthi militia against women were documented in (Taiz, Al Hodeidah, Lahj, Al Dhalea, Al Amana, Hajjah, and Amran governorates).
It also documented a death under torture in Hajjah governorate, the victim of which was a girl from Taiz named "Remas Suleiman Daoud" (25 years) who worked as a facilitator for patients in the Saudi Hospital in Hajjah city and was kidnapped by the Houthi militia in late November of 2016 from inside the hospital and deposited in the central prison on charges of labor.
The network's field team verified that (2379) women were injured as a result of the systematic bombing of neighborhoods, popular markets and public gathering places in (17) governorates, using ballistic missiles, Katyusha, mortars, tanks, BMB vehicles and B10 launchers in addition to various kinds of heavy machine guns and anti-aircraft guns that penetrated the walls of hundreds of inhabited homes
The team was able to access data on (486) women who were victims of mines and improvised explosive devices planted by the Houthi militia in (10) governorates and were seriously injured.
The team also recorded the injury of (314) women with the "sniper" weapon of the Houthi militia, distributed in (10) governorates, and a number (317) cases of direct gunshot injury to which women were exposed as part of deliberate collective and individual targeting incidents committed by the Houthi militia in (12) Yemeni governorates.
In addition, the team recorded (211) other cases of injuries committed by the Houthi militia against Yemeni women during the past six years, which varied between stabbing incidents of white weapons, sharp tools, being run over with military personnel and vehicles, and physical assault.
The human rights network confirmed the involvement of the Houthi militia in the kidnapping and detention of (447) women in (12) governorates, including two women of foreign nationalities.
According to the data and information obtained by the network, the number of (69) women who were kidnapped by the Houthi militia were taken to secret prisons and subjected to enforced disappearance for periods ranging from 3 months to a full year before their whereabouts were revealed, while the fate of some of them is still unknown until The moment included (47) cases of disappearance in the Capital Secretariat, (13) cases of disappearance in Sana'a Governorate, (9) cases of disappearance in Hodeidah, and (3) cases of disappearance in Taiz Governorate, in addition to one case of disappearance in each of the governorates of Amran and Al-Bayda, it was not possible to confirm the fate of most of these cases, according to the statement.
The team also confirmed that the Houthi militia practiced all forms of torture and cruel and degrading treatment with 78 women who are detained in secret and declared militia prisons, who have reached the point of filing fabricated charges affecting their honor, in addition to trading in their honor.
