Residents and eyewitnesses told NewsYemen that bakeries and bakeries in Taiz governorate closed their doors, Tuesday, due to the insane rise in flour prices, as a result of the riyal’s decline in the exchange market against foreign currencies.
They added that most of Taiz's bakeries have ceased their activities, including those that have not closed even during the most intense war in Taiz.
Many wholesalers and retailers stopped selling flour and consumer goods because they were unable to keep pace with the prices of goods linked to the dollar, which exceeded 925 Yemeni riyals per one dollar, while the Saudi riyal exceeded 242 riyals.
Amidst all this collapse, the legitimacy and its institutions are facing this catastrophic situation silently and without any responsible action to stop the disaster.
