Abyan belt pledges to pursue terrorist elements

The Security Belt Command in Abyan governorate considered that the attack launched by Al Qaeda on Monday on a point in the Lawdar district is an indication of a dangerous escalation against the south, as well as the return of terrorist elements to the governorate after 5 years of its purification.
In an official statement, the Belt Forces accused what it called the "legitimacy of the Brotherhood" of being behind the attack after failing to achieve any gains on the ground in the "Shaqra" front, and also accused it of "protecting terrorist elements in their areas of control in the governorate."
The statement emphasized that the attack, in which 6 soldiers were killed, is a prelude to more terrorist acts against the southern forces and their cadres that reject extremism and its tools that want to invade the south again.
The Security Belt Forces stressed that the terrorist act will not go unnoticed, and at the same time they pledged to launch a military operation to combat terrorist groups in the central regions of Abyan.
The statement called on all citizens in Abyan Governorate to cooperate with the southern forces and to report any suspicious movement.
