Al-Qaeda militants assassinate a citizen in Shabwa

On Friday evening, gunmen likely belonging to the Al-Qaeda organization shot a citizen of Shabwa governorate in the Khoura area of the Lower Markha district.
A local source in the Khoura region said that Al-Qaeda militants shot a citizen called Saleh Al-Khader, on Friday evening while he was returning to his home in Wadi Khura.
The source stated that Al-Khader exchanged fire with Al-Qaeda militants, before he was shot and killed instantly.
He indicated that the two men fled after killing the victim.
Several areas in Shabwa are witnessing a prominent resurgence of Al-Qaeda militants' activity, since the Brotherhood militia took control of the governorate and dismantled the Shabwani Elite Forces, which fought long battles against the organization and were able to defeat its elements.
