Shabwa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

The problem of sewage overflow increases in the neighborhoods of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa Governorate, southeastern Yemen, day after day, amidst the Brotherhood’s authority to ignore the health and environmental risks of the sewage overflow.

Sewage pools spread across the city, feeding mosquitoes and disease-carrying bacteria.

Residents of Ataq complained, in interviews with the "NewsYemen" correspondent, of the continued flow of sewage in the neighborhoods of the city, since the Muslim Brotherhood took control of the city, despite repeated appeals to the concerned authorities to solve the problem.

The residents explained that the sewage overflow comes in light of the officials 'indifference to the citizens' suffering, in addition to the failure to repair the sewage network, holding the concerned authorities fully responsible for the spread of diseases.

They called on the Brotherhood’s authority in control of Shabwa to rehabilitate and maintain the sewage network, add other drainage networks, develop a radical and urgent solution to sewage overflows, and save thousands from an environmental disaster.
