Security sources in Sana'a revealed that “the Iranian arm in Yemen” seizes “databases of companies and commercial establishments” in the areas under their control, the most important of which is “Sana'a”.
Some companies tried to talk to the security services of the Houthi movement about "the constitution and the law that provides for the confidentiality of information related to the databases of companies and their clients." It was subjected to ridicule and abuse.
According to "NewsYemen" sources, "leaders affiliated with the Houthi Preventive Security are practicing extortion and threats to companies responsible for designing and programming systems for the databases of companies and private sector institutions to obtain from them the databases of those companies and the accounting systems that they use."
According to the sources, representatives of Preventive Security, a Houthi-specific security apparatus established with Iranian expertise and Iranian trainers since the movement was established in Saada, is in charge of the file, disrupting all relevant supervisory bodies within the government.
Yemen Soft Company comes on top of the companies that are exposed to these pressures, as it is the largest company in Yemen that works in the field of software systems, and has sold its programs to most Yemeni companies and economic institutions.
Clients told "Yemen Soft" to "NewsYemen" that they informed the company of their categorical rejection of any step by which their information could be disclosed to a security authority that has no right to supervise commercial activities that proceed according to the law.
The Houthi militia requested “Yemen Soft” to hand it over the databases and computer systems of some private sector institutions and companies, identifying institutions - the sources requested that their names be kept at present - threatening the management of Yemen Soft to take punitive measures against them if they are rejected.
The sources did not disclose whether Yemen Soft Company had submitted to Houthi militia pressure and handed over the databases of companies and institutions that deal with it, but indicated that the company's management always assures the Houthi security leaders that they can only deliver this information according to judicial orders, which is the matter of the Houthi leaders evade him and insist on obtaining the information they want away from the judiciary.
According to the sources, the management of "Yemen Soft" is subject to harassment and may announce the closure of its main headquarters in Sana'a and the Houthi-controlled areas, after reaching a conviction that it is impossible to work based on civil information under the Houthi rule and its special battles against all parties.
"Yemen Soft" agents have threatened the company, if it turns over their information to the militia, to file lawsuits against it outside the Houthi-controlled areas, where it has commercial activities.
The sources confirm that the Houthi militia leaders' access to the databases of companies and institutions is equivalent to their obtaining the accounting books of these companies and their acquaintance with all the information on the capital, costs, income and profits of these companies on the one hand, and on the other hand their acquaintance with all the operations carried out by those companies and institutions and the information of their clients, As an example, the sources say, in the event that the leaders of the Houthi militias obtain a database of a money exchange company, they will be able to know all their operations, including sending, receiving and disbursing remittances, beneficiaries and other confidential data that the constitutional and legal texts guaranteed their confidentiality and criminalized disclosure except in accordance with final judicial orders.
