The UAE has strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist attack on the medical staff of the mobile health care clinics of the Emirates Red Crescent in the Yemeni city of Taiz, during a shooting attack.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation confirmed - in a statement, reported by the Emirates News Agency "WAM" today, Wednesday - that targeting humanitarian workers represents a major violation of international norms, treaties and conventions, which provide special protection for relief and rescue workers.
It stressed that targeting humanitarian workers would impede the continuation of relief operations and affect the arrival of humanitarian aid in Yemen, which could lead to an exacerbation of humanitarian suffering.
The Ministry affirmed its strong condemnation of these criminal acts, and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at destabilizing security and stability and inconsistent with religious and humanitarian values and principles.
