A member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in the Iranian Parliament, Abu Al-Fadl Hassan Beki, announced, on Wednesday, that his country will export weapons to Yemen and other Arab countries after the arms embargo is lifted, next Sunday.

The Iranian official said in an interview with the Russian "Sputnik" agency, on Wednesday, "Iran will be free to buy and sell defense equipment after the arms embargo is lifted, next Sunday."

"Lifting the embargo will allow us to easily sell weapons to Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon and Palestine," he added.

The Iranian official added, "As of Sunday, October 18, the Islamic Republic will be free to purchase defense equipment and everything it needs and sell defense equipment to countries that express their willingness to make the purchase from the Islamic Republic."

He added, "In other words, arms sales to Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon and even Palestine will be done easily after the arms embargo is lifted."

“The Islamic Republic in the field of ballistic missiles is self-sufficient, and there are weapons that Iran has not offered yet," Abul-Fadl Beki affirmed, adding: "If the Americans like that, we will offer them to them, especially long-range ballistic missiles."

He stressed that "the Islamic Republic is able to sell weapons to every country that needs this after lifting the arms embargo, and it can also transfer manufacturing technology to some countries."

The ban on Iran is set to expire on October 18, after more than a decade of embargoes that limit its ability to buy conventional weapons.

Last August, the UN Security Council failed to reach a resolution to extend the arms embargo on Iran, after Russia and China opposed the move in the Security Council, while France, Britain, Germany and 8 other countries abstained from voting.

The Yemeni government and the Arab coalition have previously accused Iran of smuggling weapons to the Houthi coup militia, which is its arm in Yemen.

The International Coalition Forces and US warships also seized several boats in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Aden with Iranian weapons on board while trying to smuggle them to the Houthi militia.

The Iranian official’s statements today come to reveal to the international public opinion Iran's intention to officially export weapons to its arms in the countries of the region, including the Houthis in Yemen.
